I'm applying to be your Investment Manager at Samaipata, so I built the instrument that gives us an edge on first-pass diligence.

Hi, I'm Jon.

Intelligence is commoditizing, and soon only two things will matter: the quality of your judgment and the defensibility of what you build. AI is an amplifier. It exposes you to every rival who can now move as fast as you, or it lets you move first and set your moat before they can.

So I built for exactly that. Not one tool but a small suite, made to sharpen the judgment in early diligence, never to replace it. Start with El Foso.

It interrogates a startup's claimed moat against public evidence, marks what is missing, and hands the call to a person. It never outputs a verdict, because a score is a verdict in disguise. And it sharpens with use: every rating carries what would prove it wrong, and every call is dated, so outcomes retrain it.

I ran it on three real companies. Two are seed-stage deals a fund like this would see today, chosen because the moat claim is genuinely arguable either way. The third is a zero-hindsight retro of a company the fund already backed, so you can watch it work a call that already has an answer.

Give it ten minutes. If you open one thing, open the instrument.

A care tool for one of healthcare's biggest problems: finding the chronic patients quietly falling off their treatment, so a pharmacy can help them stay on it. Built and validated end to end on a five-year synthetic pharmacy.
